Knox County Trustee’s Office- Bank Draft Program

The Knox County Property Tax Office offers two convenient Bank Draft Programs to make paying your property taxes more convenient and manageable.

Prepayment Bank Draft Plan

Stay ahead of your property taxes with our Prepayment Bank Draft Plan, which allows you to make manageable monthly payments toward your next tax bill.

How It Works

  • Eligibility: All prior property taxes must be paid before signing up.
  • Start Anytime- You can enroll at any time during the year. After the first year, all draft will follow a 12-month schedule beginning in January.
  • Monthly Payment Calculation: Your base tax amount will be divided by the number of months remaining in the year, rounded up to the nearest dollar.
  • Adjustments for Tax Changes: If your taxes change, your monthly payments will be adjusted from October through December to ensure your account is paid in full by December 31st.
  • Automatic Renewal: Your bank draft will renew automatically each January unless you notify us to terminate the agreement.

Delinquent Tax Bank Draft Plan

For homeowners with delinquent property taxes, we offer a Delinquent Tax Bank Draft Plans to help bring accounts current with more affordable monthly payments up to a two year time frame.

How It Works

  • Flexible Monthly Payments: Pay toward your delinquent taxes through a monthly bank draft.
  • Two-year Repayment Period: All delinquent payments must be structured to pay off total taxes owed within two years.
  • Draft Amount Determination: All delinquent payment plan participants must contact our office to determine the draft amount.
  • Easy Transition to Prepayment: Once your delinquent taxes are paid, you’ll have the option to seamlessly enroll in the Prepayment Bank Draft Plan to stay ahead on future tax payments.

Enrollment Requirements

To sign up you must submit:

  • A signed bank draft agreement form for your checking or savings account.
  • A voided check or statement letter from your bank showing your account and routing information.
